Welcome to the Bazzi update 2012. Bazzi (aka Baby Azzi) decided that she wanted to come about six weeks early, which was quite the shock for both Mike and me. We will keep you up-to-date with how Ellen Elizabeth is doing on this site. It’s been an adventure so far. Hopefully we’ll have less surprises along the journey. 🙂

Around 4:00am on Tuesday, October 23, I was sure that either my water had broke or I had a pretty severe bladder problem. Either didn’t sound very good, so the doctor said to come to the hospital. I was fairly sure that the hospital would tell me to go home with some medication, so I wasn’t in a rush. We walked into the emergency room and they wheeled me to the delivery room (which I thought was ridiculous since I was walking just fine). I was in continual denial until the resident asked me about my pain. I was confused because I only had felt cramps that were nothing new to me. But apparently I was dilated six centimeters and the baby was coming soon. I was admitted around 6:00am and Ellen Elizabeth was here at 11:11am – six weeks early.  She was taken to the NICU almost immediately and has been there ever since.
